Design Focus of the Week: Secrets of Russia

In 2011 Aamu Song and Johan Olin of Helsinki-based studio, Company, set out on a journey to explore the manufacturing secrets the world’s largest country, Russia. Their travels led them to collaborate with six traditional manufacturers. “After visiting each factory, and getting to know their manufacturing secrets, we designed new products based on their tradition.” From this, a collection of new traditional items known as ’Secrets of Russia’ was born.
