MPDClick were astounded when first inroduced to the work of Lisbon born sculptor/artist David Oliveira, when realising these ink-like sketches were in fact wire sculptures. This is a highly mezmerising theme that sits well in MPDClick’s forecasted trend Expression for A/W 13/14.
Hand-drawn scrawls and mixed media effects are essential to the Expression trend and Oliveira offers a unique interpretation of this style in an exciting, interactive method. We love how lightweight and ethereal the scultpures seem in contrast to how traditional sculptural pieces convey extreme weight and solidity.
Although Oliveira has been in the art circuit for a few years, we still expect great things to come from this artist.
