It’s that time of year again where the future of British design showcase to the masses at Graduate Fashion Week.
Like every year since 1991, Graduate Fashion Week will exhibit the best graduate collections from universities around the UK. A carefully selected few will also have the opportunity to win some prestigious awards, including the Gold Award where one very able student will walk away with £20,000 to help kick start their future career.
Last week saw the announcement of the prestigious new judging panel which will include fashion extraordinaire Daphne Guinness, critic Suzy Menkes and the esteemed Christopher Bailey. With key individuals like these, the search for the best graduate designers is going to have a promising outcome.
Also up for grabs will be awards for the best of Womenswear, Menswear and Textiles. The competition will be of a typically high standard, with over 30 universities competing to make an impression on the likes of Matthew Williamson, Mary Katrantzou, Julien Macdonald and many other prestigious names.
