British luxury footwear designer SD Yohans’ autumn/winter 12 collection celebrates an elegant and feminine aesthetic, crafted in a mix of luxurious leathers, suedes and python which exude sensuality.
Each style in the collection is titled ‘love’ in different languages, representing the brand’s slogan, ‘a secret love affair’. Yohans’ concept is to create unique footwear with an emphasis on form rather than decorative elements, thus challenging the traditional silhouette. The convex heel and contemporary upper shapes are developments from the previous season’s strong silhouettes, originally derived from visual research into African and Eritrean traditional practices. Standout styles include the black leather peep-toe ankle boot and the burgundy leather wedge with black braided leather.
