Luxury womenswear designer Jasper Garvida’s autumn/winter 12 collection is characterised by the influence of Russian constructivism, pairing feminine luxury with masculine, military detailing, geometric lines and conceptual themes.
Luxurious satin, soft suede and fine cashmere are illustrated with machinery prints, whilst intricate epaulettes, tabs sealed with gold buttons and hand embellishments succeed in accentuating the female form. The colour palette, drawn from the works of one of the most prolific and influential women artists of the Russian avant-garde, Liubov Popova, includes rich hues of green and camel shades. Complemented by arresting gold adornment, military shades and functionality are combined with opulent luxury to achieve the aesthetic of a strong utilitarian woman.
