Kriss Soonik
Words by Mudpie’s Lingerie Designer.
The sun is shining (at least we can imagine it is), the florists are in full bloom and the ground littered in confetti, yes it’s that time of year again, wedding season. Whilst looking through the latest collections from some of our favourite bridal lingerie brands such as Fleur of England and Ell and Cee, we were surprised by some more unusual offerings this season.
‘Loungerie’ specialist Kriss Soonik has recently unveiled her latest collection, ‘Rebel Bride’. The collection features a number of the classic Soonik styles which have been “given a honeymoon white and rock ‘n’ roll touch”. Typical of the brand, there is the underwear as outerwear element to some of the styles such as the garter tank top and lace bodysuit. This is a beautiful, contemporary meets vintage collection which caters to the modern bride whilst still encompassing an air of delicate femininity. We recently reviewed a preview of Kriss Soonik’s a/w 12 collection – MPDClick subscribers can click here to read more.
However, if you wanted a little more bite for your buck you may be more interested in Bordelle’s brand new ‘Bridal Uncovered’ range. Using their iconic, bondage style strap details they have created a striking new collection in white, ivory, cream and blush tones. Classic Bordelle corset dresses and basques are softened with pleated chiffon and beading whilst retaining their seductive edge. This collection provides a stunning foundation to any gown which can be worn straight through to the honeymoon. Blushing brides-to-be take note, the collection is due to go on sale later in the month and we predict it will flying off the shelves.
