The revitalisation of the cities of tomorrow, through the expressive and creative force of street art, forms a key part of the Expression trend for AW13-14.
In the case of French street artist OaKoAk the language is humour, using the forms presented to him in the urban environment to create simple yet strikingly amusing pieces. Certain to bring a smile to the passer by, each artwork engages viewers with their surrounding and challenges them to look at the world in a different perspective.
Not only are his pieces humorous but they are clearly very clever too. His best work has been featured in the self titled OaKoAk book, a collection of his creations from the last few years. His skill lies in creating something from seemingly nothing, for example in the case of the doorstep piano or the Gameboy from a drain cover. He clearly has a mission to make people smile by brightening up their environment.
