Invited by Halpern PR to a fabulous location within the Royal Academy in London, we were introduced to Swiss acquired American heritage brand Gant’s autumn/winter 12/13 line. Staying true to the brands origins, Gant shows a quality range of tweed and cosy knitwear pieces with a peppering of retro sports styles to portray a typical ‘New England’ style.
Distressed seamed checked shirts, corduroy trousers in a spectrum of colourways and kitsch Fair Isle knits were highlights for menswear, a great selection of fresh commercial styles that are sure to sell well.
A contemporary houndstooth check stands-out on a feminine sleeveless blouse – merchandise with tapered pants and staple pumps for an office ready look that will garner attention in-store. A long haired collarless coat however gives the collection great contemporary direction, a design within the collaboration line by American fashion designer Michael Bastian. Monochrome houndstooth skinny pants also feature in the range offering a youthful alternative to traditional prints. Altogether a great collection combining heritage country looks with directional interpretations.
