Profile: Maria Parsons is a British/Danish fashion designer and illustrator who graduated from Kolding School of Design in June 2011. Her approach to fashion is conceptual and artistic and she works within the fields of fashion, textile and illustration/art.
Maria Parsons’ graduate collection is called ‘BACK TO MYSTERY CITY’, the name is inspired by the illustration on the tray which depicts a mysterious city filled with bright colours and geometric shapes; as such, during the design process she chose to work directly with these components in mind, resulting in a very conceptual fashion collection. Maria has incorporated different techniques such as embroidery, quilting, appliqué technique and beading in her collection.
